Mission Statement

Our mission is to:

  1. Create the opportunity for students of St Leonard’s College to participate in the snowsports experience;
  2. Enable students who have already experienced snow sports to improve their skills by having access to the best coaching and facilities available; and
  3. Enable students with sufficient skill and enthusiasm to represent their school and compete at the Victorian and Australian Interschool Snowsports Championships.

 

Statement of Purpose

The purpose of the St Leonard’s College Snowsports is to promote the sports of Cross Country Skiing, Skiing and Snowboarding to the St Leonard’s College Community. This is achieved by:

  1. Organising and conducting Information Nights for parents and students;
  2. Organising and facilitating dry-land training at the school to assist the students with fitness attainment for Cross Country Skiing, Skiing and Snowboarding;
  3. Organising and facilitating the operation of a Development (Primary and Secondary) Camp and Skills Day;
  4. Organising and facilitating attendance at the St Leonard’s Snowsports Championships and Training Day; and
  5. Organising and assisting students competing in the Interschools Grand Prix Series, Victorian and Australian Interschool Snowsports Championships.

The overall emphasis is on the introduction of students to Snowsports, catering for their continued development at all levels from beginners to advanced competitiors.
