FRIENDS  OF  ST  LEONARDS  SNOWSPORTS

(FOSLS) Pronounced: “Fossils”

FOSLS are a group of dedicated school parents interested in assisting the school’s Snowsports Program to succeed by providing support to help manage, arrange and being actively involved in a variety of Snowsports events.

Under the evolution of the Snowsports Program it has been recognised that it is vitally important for the success of the Snowsports Program that there is still a measure of parental involvement and so, FOSLS was formed.

In 2011, FOSLS currently includes the following parents:

  • Diane Hollingsworth 

 

This group have a love of all things snow sports and of the school and have made a commitment to assist the Snowsports Co-ordinator to conduct a variety of Snowsports functions and events throughout the course of the year. This includes the following events :

 

Snowsports Information Night  (February)

  • Presentations – Parent’s Perspective
  • Assembling Information Bags

 

Town and Country Fair (March)

  • Information Table
  • Snowcones Stall

 

Annual Equipment Sale/ Swap Meet & Sausage Sizzle (May)

  • Collecting Monies
  • Cooking Sausages
  • Setting Up and Cleaning Up

 

Pre-Camp Information Meetings (June)

  • Facilitate Evening Presentation
  • Parental Support

 

Senior Snowsports Development Camp  (July)

  • Volunteer Assistance
  • Parental Support (where required)
  • Free Ski Chaperone

 

Junior Snowsports Development Camp (August)

  • Volunteer Assistance
  • Parental Support (where required)
  • Free Ski Chaperone

 

Interschool’s Bib Distribution and Race Officials’ Meeting (August)

  • Packing of Bags
  • Officials’ Instruction (Wednesday 17 August, 6.30 pm, HSC Seminar Room) 
  • Organise Pizza / Pasta

 

Interschools Championships (August)

  • Parental Support on the Mountain (where required)
  • Race Officials
  • Team Dinner
  • Opening Ceremony

 

End of Season Presentation Night

  • Assist with Catering
  • Assist with Awards Presentation
  • Assist with Venue

 

General Snowsports Planning Meetings (Evolution of Snowsports Meeting)

  • Attendance as and when required (Wednesday 12 October, 6.45 pm – 8.00 pm, HSC Seminar Room)
